They said she was eventually found, but not before police issued a Code Red alert to thousands of homes in Kettering, Mary Alexandria Bachelor, who goes by Alex, was not in her room when her alarm clock went off around 6:30 a.m. Thursday. Her parents called police and then officers called the girl’s friends and school mates for help. Police rushed to the girl’s home on Lotz Street to get a picture and a description of her. After an initial search, detectives called out the K-9 unit to help in the search. Bachelor was eventually found wandering a neighboring street and was escorted home around noon. Authorities said the girl was distraught over a recent move to Kettering and grades that were slipping in school. Officers checked the girl’s school at Van Buren Middle School, talked to friends, and canvassed area streets. |
