Village officials can now
get the word out quickly to residents about emergencies via a high-speed
telephone emergency notification service. A Florida firm was awarded a $9,500
contract in May to set up the system, which allows prerecorded messages to be
delivered to targeted areas or the entire village at up to 60,000 calls per
hour. Staff was expected to provide numbers for about 90 percent of Glenview
residences and businesses through police and village records. To check if
yours is on the list, log onto www.glenview.il.us and follow the link to the CodeRed
Residential and Business Data Collection page or call (847) 724-2141 between
8 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays
